Guide to Applying Online

1 Before you complete the Job Application Form, you may wish to check the entry requirements of the post you are applying on your eligibility. Please note that only Singapore Citizens can be considered for employment with the Ministry. Singapore Permanent Residents are not eligible.
2 Please allow yourself about 30 to 45 minutes to complete the four-page Job Application Form. You will need the following information to fill in the form:
 
  • GCE 'O'/ 'N'/ 'A' level results
  • Scanned transcripts of Diploma and/or Degree results in PDF
  • Professional qualifications/ Training courses
  • Academic scholarships/ Awards/ Prizes/ Memberships/ Co-curricular activities
  • Current and previous employment records (indicating period of service, position and last drawn salary)
You will also need to provide a short write-up in the last page of the Job Application Form on why you want to be a Foreign Service Officer and your views on the key challenges for Singapore’s Foreign Policy.
3 Please note that it is mandatory for you to provide an e-mail address in the Job Application Form. We will correspond with you on the status of your application via the e-mail address.
4 If you give false particulars or wilfully suppress material facts, you are liable to be disqualified.
5 You will be directed to an acknowledgement page upon successful submission of the Job Application Form.
6 The Ministry does not enter into correspondence regarding the reasons for the selection of candidates.
7 You will be required to produce the original supporting documents once you have been selected for appointment. If the originals have been lost or misplaced, please obtain authenticated duplicates or certified true copies from the issuing authorities.
8 You are advised to use Microsoft Internet 7 and above or Mozilla Firefox 3 and above to submit your application.
9 If you encounter technical difficulties, please email mfa_career@mfa.gov.sg with (a) details on your browser and OS version, (b) time and date when the issue was encountered, (c) screenshots captured and (d) your saved PDF file with supporting documents.
10 Please note that you will receive an email confirmation within a day upon successful submission of your application. Please ensure that you have entered a valid email address.
